Online sites and charities.
I haven't looked into this much but this is something I noticed while working for a major charity organization. Brick and mortar casinos donate a lot to local charities. I know this because when I was working for a charity looking for donations the local casino was one of the first places we would hit up for cash. They were very generous at that. Did a lot of good things in the community. Are many of the online sites doing the same thing? Meaning donating to charity.
I have never noticed that on any of the sites that I play on. I imagine, just as in the real world you would have to get in touch with the owners of the site to ask about donations.
Wow, that is something I didn't know. That the normal casino's donate a lot of money to certain charities. That is pretty cool and I wouldn't have thought it.
I wonder which types of charities would not want there donations, as gambling money?
I have no idea about online casino's.
I had no idea either! Gamer, like you I wonder which charities have turned down money from casinos. I sure there are some and I'll gladly take their donation, lol.
I have heard of schools have poker nights to raise money for clubs and such. I wonder how that went over with the school boards.
I have no idea if online places would even consider this, most online places are online to avoid having to deal with a ton of overhead (so they pay cheaper than a normal physical casino would), not sure really if they could afford it.
* This known, even since ever penny does count but I think it would be based on the sites structure of what they need to cover and what they have for profit.
The casino I am most familiar with did donate very generously to the Heart and Stroke Foundation at the minimum. It is true that the specific community that they are in does have a very high rate of heart disease because of demographics. That is where my direct personal experience comes in. I do know that most of them do contribute to the communities they are in.
Brick and mortar casinos I think always give to local charities to play up that they are a good thing for the community and not a den of crime and corruption.![]()
I don't think that would influence an online casino in the same way, but who knows. I personally have never heard of an online casino doing anything for charity.
